Rethinking EU Food and Farming

My central idea to respond to the climate, environmental and social challenges that agriculture and food systems are currently facing in the EU : put the CAP upside down, get the money to farmers committed to change and push innovation. In one word: drop the area payments system known as "the 1st pillar". It fosters immobilism, fixity and unfair distribution of support (the famous 80/20 rule). Get to a single delivery system, multi-annual programming, investment and innovation on top of support criteria together with employment and sustainability.
